Are there age requirements for SSDI benefits?

Disability can strike a worker of any age. Fortunately, there is no minimum age to qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. Young workers who meet the agency’s definition of disabled can qualify for benefits as long as they meet Social Security’s work requirements.

Can I receive Social Security Disability Insurance and workers' comp?

If you are eligible for both Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and workers' compensation benefits, you do not have to choose between the benefits. If you qualify, you can receive both types of benefits. However, your SSDI benefits may be reduced, depending on your previous income and the amount of benefits you receive.
