Appealing a decision on the Internet

So you've requested Social Security Disability payments and your application has been denied. This happens to people all across Minnesota every year, and it's important to note that this is not the end of the road. You can still appeal that decision. In fact, many applications are denied for simple reasons -- such as forgetting to fill out a certain box -- and this can be rectified quickly.

The traditional way to appeal is to send the documents in through the mail. After your letter shows up telling you that you have been denied, you must mail out those documents within two months (60 days). If you wait too long, you may lose the right to appeal.

However, it's worth noting that there is now a faster and easier way to appeal. You can just do it all online. This way, the documents that you upload get there instantly, they don't get lost in the mail and you can upload on the last day and know that they're still going to get in time. For many people, the Internet makes it faster and easier than ever to appeal.

Of course, you still want to take this with the same level of seriousness that you would a normal appeal. Take the time to go over everything to make sure it is flawless and to look into your legal options. Review every detail for accuracy and don't upload the documents until they best present your case. If you do this, you have the best chance of getting the outcome that you want and eventually being approved.
