What benefits are available for veterans?

If you suffer an injury and are a veteran of the United States military, you may qualify for up to $3,400 each month in benefits. These are benefits paid to veterans who have suffered injuries as a result of active duty. They are also paid to those who had previous health concerns made worse by active duty. In the case that you suffer an injury as a result of the Veteran's Association health care system, you may also qualify for this assistance.

The benefits are tax-free, which is a significant help to those who are in need of financial assistance. Of course, not everyone qualifies for $3,400, but the range of awards is between $133 and $3,400 monthly. The award varies based on how many dependents you have and the significance of your disability.

Additionally, sometimes people qualify for greater awards than the typical $3,400 if they have seriously disabled spouses, severe disabilities themselves or have children or dependent parents.

To apply for these benefits, you should apply on's website. If you're unsure about how to apply and what you may need to complete the claim fully, you should talk to your attorney ahead of time. He or she can help you collect the necessary medical evidence, dependency records, copies of your DD214 or other documents.

If you're not yet discharged from the military, you may still be able to file for these benefits depending on where you are in the discharge process. An attorney can help you file for the benefits early or as soon as you are discharged.
