When do my disability benefits stop?

by | Mar 31, 2024 | SSD - Uncategorized |

Your Social Security Disability Insurance (“SSDI”) benefits will cease if you go back to work and earn over the threshold for Substantial Gainful Activity. Supplemental Security Income (“SSI”) benefits will stop if you go back to work and earn more money than the threshold for Substantial Gainful Activity, or if your benefits are reduced to the point you are not due any benefits.

Additionally, benefits will stop and be transitioned to retirement benefits when reach full retirement age.

Benefits may also be terminated if drug addiction or alcoholism is found to be a contributing factor material to the determination of disability, or your benefits have been suspended for 12 consecutive months for failure to comply with treatment requirements.
